VPK Graduation

We officially have a kindergartner! Olivia completed the VPK program and will attend Roberts Elementary in the fall. She is ready to start kindergarten now. Gigi and Papaw were able to make a quick trip down to attend her graduation ceremony. The kids did a great job with the program, and managed to stay on stage for over an hour. After the ceremony we celebrated graduation with a little ice cream treat. Probably Olivia's favorite part of the night!

Our little graduate!

The next day her class celebrated the end of the school year with a little party. Olivia took a small break from palying with her grandparents to visit with friends and her teachers.

Her first day of VPK (August 2012)
We are excited to see what the fall will bring. She is ready. I am not!

Memorial Day

This was my weekend to work, but it actually wasn't that bad. On Sunday I took the girls downtown for a concert while Robert enjoyed a little down time. Olivia and Caroline enjoyed a cotton candy snow cone, and Caroline ate most of my dinner after she had already eaten hers. Olivia enjoyed running around and playing with her friend Katelyn. Caroline enjoyed playing on the grass, and pulling up on everyone sitting on the blankets. She actually stood and let go for the first time and was was able to maintain her balance for just a few seconds before her diaper padded her fall. The weather was perfect, the company was fantastic, and the music was great.

Olivia's Ballet and Tap Recital

Olivia worked very hard on her ballet and tap routine. She participated in her first recital on May 18, 2013. the recital was held in Thomasville, Ga. at the Language Arts Center. All of the little girls were so cute in their costumes. I think Olivia's favorite parts were the hair, make-up, and roses. She also had mommy and daddy all to herself. Caroline stayed at home with a sitter. The recital was right in the middle of nap time. A screaming, over tired baby can ruin a performance.

Olivia, you did a fantastic job! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

Celebrating Birthdays!

April was full of birthday celebrations. All three of the Jernigan girls celebrated birthdays this month. Caroline kicked off the month by turning one on April 5th. Poor thing was sick on her birthday with some kind of virus. She was lucky enough to spend the day at home with mommy. We hung around the house and finished the evening off with cupcakes. This was her first real experience with something sweet. She wasn't too interested, but it may have been because she was tired and not feeling well.

Then we headed to Leeds to celebrate both girls with a big party at Gigi and Papaw's house. Olivia jumped in the bounce house from the time it was delivered until it was dark outside and bedtime. She was one tired little girl. Caroline was definitely interested in her cake! She enjoyed the icing the most.

The girl's invitation designed by my sweet friend Marcy.

Getting a family picture with two kids is nearly impossible. I love how these represent us. Both parents with a steady smile while both kids do their own thing.

Olivia's birthday was on April 17th. She enjoyed cupcakes at school with her friends, and a few little extra surprises from mom and dad.

We finished off the month with a night out, minus the kids, to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed great food, wonderful company, and a little adult conversation.

Celebrating Easter

Enjoying the egg hunt.
Easter weekend was busy. Olivia experienced her first slumber party, and absolutely loved it. She still talks about it, and wants to know when she can do it again. The girls participated in an egg hunt, and we shared a wonderful brunch with friends. It was perfect!

The Easter bunny stopped by the house and left a few goodies for the girls.

Olivia enjoyed hunting eggs, and even found the golden egg. Caroline enjoyed a blueberry muffin-all to herself.

Olivia's First Night Away

Olivia was invited to her first spend the night party. Her best little friend was turning five and was having a slumber party complete with pizza making, sundaes, cake, popcorn, and a movie.

I was fully prepared to take her home with me around 10:00 p.m. She was fully prepared to stay like a big girl.

She loved the pajama party favors.
Out of five little guests she was the only one that stayed. She had a blast, and apparently they giggled until after midnight. She woke up to homemade pancakes and doughnuts. I wish I had spent the night too.

It's Pig Pickin' Time

We had the opportunity to attend the fourth annual pig pickin' with Blue Water Catering Company. Think large community picnic, more bar b que than you can ever imagine, a gigantic bonfire, and the kids run around like crazy. It's a blast. This was Carolines first time to attend, and she approved of all of the bar b que. Especially the roasted pig.
We start them early in the Jernigan house.

Olivia enjoying her favorite food group-Desert!
